National Quilting Day Festivities

Join us at Sew What Quilt Shop March 19th as we celebrate National Quilting Day. We will be having a sale on patterns, books and notions -- 25% off, that day only. Also, we will be hosting a special project day. We will be making pillowcases for the Quilts of Valor -- Kansas Bee out of Wichita. The pillowcases are used as storage cases for the quilts they present to our wounded soldiers. The kits for the pillowcases will be available for a donation of $2.50 . You can either make them here that day, or take them home, make them and bring them back. All donations collected for the pillowcases will be given to the Quilts of Valor -- Kansas Bee to be used for purchasing batting and backing fabrics for the quilts they make. I do hope you will join us March 19th and help with this worthy cause. Space is limited at the shop for sewing, so if you do plan to join us, let us know ahead of time so we may plan accordingly.

Thanks, and Happy Sewing!

New Month, New Fabric and SUNSHINE

What a way to start out a new month! We have sunshine and warmer temperatures (at least for a day or two). I am so ready for summer to be here. How about you?

We are getting in some of the new spring fabrics, a few bolts at a time. Today we received our fabrics from Windham . . . the Hemmingway line. Beautiful turquoise hybiscus on a green background is my favorite.Paula likes the cream background with the cancelled postage stamps.

Can't remember which one was Jan's favorite. Could be one of those or the green palm fronds
or the basket weave or maybe the smaller blue and green flower print. They do make me think spring though.

We are getting closer to our 1 year anniversary/birthday at Sew What. Keep checking back to see what we have in store for you. You can bet there will be a SALE involved.

We are in the middle of setting up our schedule of classes for the next few months. If you see one you are interested in, please sign up early. We have limited space for classes and they are sure to fill up fast. Along with quilting, we will be offering some apparel classes too, just in time for summer fun.
